MAPLE LEAFS - 1 & 1

Well, my internet has been down for a couple of days.

The leafs are off to a very start.

Kilger and Darcy Tucker each scored a pair of goals tonight and Andrew Raycroft stopped 34 shots to earn the shutout as the Toronto Maple Leafs exacted a measure of revenge for an opening-night loss with a 6-0 victory over the Ottawa Senators.

In the return match of the teams' home-and-home series to kick off the new NHL season, the Leafs embarrassed the Senators before a sellout crowd of 19,237 at Scotiabank Place.

They scored early and often on Ottawa goaltender Martin Gerber, who struggled in his home debut and was pulled in favour of Ray Emery after allowing five goals on 24 shots through the first two periods.

At the other end, Raycroft responded from the opening-night defeat with a solid performance to earn his first shutout in a Maple Leafs uniform and the fourth of his career.
