SWISS STEAK MEDITERRANEAN

Lots of deep rusty read gravy with steak, onion, and mushrooms.

Spaghetti sauce - 2 Cups 500 ml
Salt - 1/2 tsp 2 ml
Pepper 1 tsp 5 ml

Beef round steak, trimmed of fat, cut into 6 pieces - 1 3/4 lbs 790 g

Medium onions, cut into chuncks - 2
Small whole fresh mushrooms (about 2 cups, 500 ml). - 1/2 lb 225 g

Stir first 4 ingredients together in bowl.

Place steak pieces in slow cooker. Pour 1/3 of sauce over and between pieces.

Sprinkle onion and mushrooms over top. Pour remaining 2/3 sauce over all. Cover. Cook on Low for 7 to 9 hours or on High for 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours. Serves 6.

If watching Sodium intake, omit Salt and Pepper.
