Game 7 - Argos 7 Alouettes 31
Robert Edwards ran in two touchdowns and Damon Duval kicked five field goals as the undefeated Montreal Alouettes posted a workmanlike 31-7 victory over the injury-wracked Toronto Argonauts on Thursday night. The Alouettes improved to 7-0 for the first time since 2002, the last year they won the Grey Cup. Toronto lost its second game in a row and dropped to 2-5. Edwards carried 17 times for 138 yards and improved his league-leading TD total to 10 for the season.
Toronto avoided being shut out when cornerback Kahlil Carter picked off a pass by back-up quarterback Nealon Greene and ran it 84 yards for a touchdown with 2:42 left to play.
With Damon Allen nursing a sore finger, back-up Spergon Wynn got the start for Toronto and had a miserable first three quarters, never advancing the ball past the Argo's own 51.
Eric Crouch took over in the fourth and he also struggled.
The Argos were missing their top three running backs - Ricky Williams, John Avery and Jeff Johnson - to injuries and Canadian John Williams got the start.
